On May 8, 2025, Kongquan Academy in Nan'an City, Fujian Province, appointed Li Zhaoyin, President of the American Chinese Calligraphers Association, as Honorary Dean.

Introduction to the History of Kongquan Academy: Kongquan Academy is located at the foot of Xiangshe Mountain in Houyang Village, Lefeng Town, Nan'an City. It was founded by the third patriarch of the Pan family in Houyang, Nan'an, during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, and has a history of nearly 500 years. It is reported that the academy was originally built with earth and wood structures, consisting of several classrooms, and was originally called "Kongquan Xiaozhu". There are three famous stone carvings around the academy: one is "Deep in the White Clouds", which was written by the renowned scholar Du Wengen using sugarcane pulp as a pen (now well preserved); The second one is called "Three Friends", which means "Three Friends" of pine, bamboo, plum, and winter; The third name is' Kongquan ', and there is a clear spring on the upper left of the academy, also known as the' Wisdom Spring ', which flows continuously throughout the four seasons, hence the name of the academy.

After the establishment of the academy, Pan Luquan, the ancestor of the Pan family, had a far sighted vision, hired famous teachers to teach, recruited a wide range of students, and carefully cultivated them, achieving remarkable results. The Academy has cultivated eight Juren, eleven Gongsheng, two Jinshi and 113 Xiucai, and "two prefects and five Supervisor of the County" and "three generations of Ming Jing" are all outstanding talents cultivated by the Academy. The academy once became a school for students in Quanzhou Prefecture to participate in the imperial examination and further their studies, playing a positive role in promoting cultural education and social development and progress in Quanzhou and Nan'an at that time. It is an important historical witness to the cultural development of Minpan (distributed in more than 40 countries and regions around the world, with a population of over 1.2 million), and was also a well-known Minnan cultural destination at that time. These are recorded in the "Nan'an Furnace Pan Family Genealogy" and "Nan'an County Annals" respectively.

For hundreds of years, the Pan people of Nan'an have revered the legacy of academies and inherited the fine tradition of valuing education and promoting learning from their ancestors, resulting in the emergence of numerous talents and widespread fame.

In 2018, the academy was rebuilt, and now there are 48 cultural landscapes and "three pavilions and eight bases" in the park. Every year, tens of thousands of tourists come here to visit and learn, promoting traditional Chinese culture.
