On February 25th, Chen Gang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of the Autonomous Region, met with Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, in Hong Kong.

Chen Gang expressed gratitude to Chief Executive Li Jiachao and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government for their strong support for the development of Guangxi over the long term. He congratulated the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government on comprehensively, accurately, and unwaveringly implementing the "One Country, Two Systems" policy, and promoting Hong Kong to take new steps towards governance and development. Chen Gang stated that Guangxi and Hong Kong are geographically close, have close social connections, frequent exchanges in various fields, and have enormous potential for cooperation.   We hope that Guangxi and Hong Kong can leverage their respective advantages, jointly strengthen the alignment of development strategies, build a high-level western land sea new channel, work together to build a China ASEAN artificial intelligence application cooperation center, jointly expand the ASEAN market, and promote continuous new achievements in cooperation between the two places. Guangxi will do its best to serve Hong Kong's high-quality development and help Hong Kong maintain long-term prosperity and stability.

Li Jiachao welcomes Secretary Chen Gang to lead the Guangxi delegation to visit Hong Kong and expresses gratitude for Guangxi's long-term support for Hong Kong's development. Li Jiachao said that Guangxi is an international gateway for the country to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It is also an important node of the "the Belt and Road" with Hong Kong. It is actively building itself into an important strategic hinterland of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. As the core city of the Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong actively connects with the country's "Tenth Five Year Plan", continues to deepen regional cooperation in the Greater Bay Area, and promotes regional integration and efficient connectivity. The Hong Kong SAR government will continue to leverage the advantages of internal and external connections under the "One Country, Two Systems" policy, fully play the role of "super contacts" and "super value-added people", and has established a special team for mainland enterprises to go global. Through the cross sector professional service platform under the team, we will serve mainland enterprises to "go global" and have confidence in working with Guangxi to expand overseas markets, including ASEAN, and explore more global business opportunities. We hope that Hong Kong and Guangxi can deepen cooperation and achieve mutual benefits, especially in areas such as innovative technology and youth exchanges, to further strengthen practical cooperation in maritime and logistics, and jointly seize the huge opportunities brought by the national development strategy.
